U.S.S. Defiant

Welcome to the USS Defiant! We are a Chess 960 group. Our primary mission is defending Planetary Installations through chess960 Team Matches as part of the Star Trek Team Chess League (STTCL). Join us in exploring a variety of openings together. There are 960 possible starting positions in this chess variant and we’ll be reviewing some of them. We are affiliated with Starfleet Academy. The U.S.S. Defiant is a 24th century Federation starship. This was the first ship of the class and the second Federation ship known to bear the name Defiant. The Defiant first appeared in the 3rd season of DS9. It is one of the first designs of a Starfleet war ship. While decommissioned from main fleet use, it was assigned to DS9 during the series and movies that followed.
