Legend tells of a nobler age in chess where women were burdened to carry handkerchiefs and kept their shoulders water-absorbent for chess playing lovers who were often brought to tears by swashbuckling sacrifices and gung-ho attacks. In those days, it was not unfrequent for grown men to clutch at their hearts and wistfully sigh as unseen acts of loyalty and valour met at the center of the board, in hopes of never meeting their end. To this day, nothing melts the hearts of chess enthuiasts like an unbridled collision between two warring kingdoms, which is why the romantic era is still hailed as the golden age of chess and continues to win hearts everywhere.

School of Romantics aims to be the refuge of all chess enthuasists struck by Cupid's arrow. Chess romantics can expect to find a friendly and encouraging space for all likes who wish to study the beauty of romantic chess and the artists that made it what it is today.
