Pavel Ponkratov is a Russian grandmaster. He was the Russian Rapid Cup winner in 2017 and 2018. In 2020 he won the International Chess Open "Ciudad de Leon." In 2021 he won the Russian Championship Higher League and qualified for the Russian Championship Superfinal for the first time in his career.
He also qualified for the 2021 FIDE World Cup.
