Nodirbek Yakubboev is an Uzbek grandmaster and three-time national champion. His Uzbekistani Chess Championships came in 2016, 2018, and 2020. At the 2018 World Youth Chess Olympiad, Yakubboev won gold with Uzbekistan and took individual gold as well for his performance on the second board. 

In 2022, Yakubboev won another gold medal with Uzbekistan, this time at the FIDE Chess Olympiad. He played the second board and scored 8/11 in his individual games for a performance rating of 2759. Later that year he won the President of Uzbekistan Cup, an international tournament, with 7.5/9 points.

In 2023, Yakubboev won the Qatar Masters with a 7/9 score after defeating his countryman GM Nodirbek Abdusattorov in a blitz tiebreak. The field that Yakubboev cleared had included the likes of GM Magnus Carlsen and GM Hikaru Nakamura.
