Gadir Guseinov is a Russian-born grandmaster who plays for Azerbaijan and is one of the nation's strongest players. One of Guseinov's early successes came when he won the U10 European Youth Chess Championship in 1994. He later won the Ugra Governor's Chess Blitz Cup in 2011 and, more recently, the Sitges Open in 2018.
