GM Eugene Perelshteyn
Bio
Eugene Perelshteyn is a Ukrainian-American grandmaster and writer. He moved to the United States in 1994 and won the U.S. Junior Closed Championship in 2000. A year later, Perelshteyn won the Samford Chess Fellowship awarded by U.S. Chess Trust. Other successes include winning the 2007 SPICE Cup and tying for first in the 2012 Canadian Open.
Perelshteyn earned his grandmaster title in 2006 and reached his peak FIDE rating of 2555 in 2008. Besides being a successful chess player, he has also authored two well-received books: Chess Openings for Black, Explained: A Complete Repertoire and Chess Openings for White, Explained: Winning with 1.e4.
