GM Nodirbek Yakubboev won the first Titled Tuesday of September, and his first since February 2020, with a score of 9.5/11, winning on the tiebreaker over GM Maksim Chigaev. GM Daniel Naroditsky took third with the best tiebreaker of the four players on 9/11, followed by Russian NM Valery Sviridov in fourth.

496 titled players participated in this week's Titled Tuesday. The tournament was the normal 11-round Swiss with a 3+1 time control.

Live broadcast of this week's tournament, hosted by WGM Nemo Zhou.

It was a wide-open Titled Tuesday with nobody ever really pulling away from the pack, including as many as nine players tied for first after eight rounds with a score of 7/8.

Chigaev was up by a half-point entering the last round after beating GM Andrew Tang, who hung a pawn fork, in round 10.

Chigaev then agreed to a draw against Sviridov in the last round without either side playing a move, even with four players on his tail at 8.5/10 (one of whom was Sviridov).

Yakubboev had drawn three of his four games from rounds six to nine, making him one of those players on 8.5 with a round to go. He was the only one of them to win his final game, defeating GM Sanan Sjugirov, who had been on the same score.

That left the path open for players on 8/10 to place. Danya Naroditsky took advantage by defeating GM Amin Tabatabaei (the last of the players on 8.5) with a nice tactical shot, one WGM Nemo Zhou on commentary proclaimed "deserves to be hung up on the wall."
