Chess Players Crossing The Alps!

livigno summer.jpg22 GMs and 14 IMs have gathered in the picturesque town of Livigno in the Italian Alps, for the International Livigno Chess Open, from 12th to 18th September 2011.

The second edition of the tournament has successfully attracted a total of 90 participants. There are 54 players taking part in the 'Open A' tournament, 18 with ratings over 2500 Elo and three above 2600 Elo.

No less than 24 nations are represented from all over the world: Europe, Asia, Northern and Southern America. Among the players are many big names, such as Miso Cebalo (2009 World Senior Champion) and Srinath Narayanan (India's youngest FIDE rated chess player in 2002) and under-12 world chess champion in 2005.
