I have been playing, teaching, managing chess activities, and editing chess practicum (the best of chess books) since my school days, highlighted by the release of Play Winning Chess by GM Yasser Seirawan and IM Jeremy Silman for Microsoft Press, a project I managed.  I have also coached high school chess teams at all skill levels, Beginner through Expert. Competing over the years in tournaments from the National High School Championships to the U.S. Open and World Open (where one of my students won $10,000), I teach how to ask the right questions of every chess position, how to identify the best candidate moves, and then play those moves with confidence.  I received the National Master Title in 1986
