I played professional chess for about 8 years starting back in Uzbekistan until year of 1989 when my family moved to America and continued playing in America until 1993 when entered college.

My USCF looks too lower than it actually is.  When I came to New York, I had no official rating and during one of my first tournaments I beat International Master Kamran Shirazi in 13 moves.  This game was published in July addition of Chess Life in 1991.  After this win my rating was still low but I was not allowed to play in tournaments with rating below 2200.  Even in 1992 I stopped playing professional chess, I continued studying chess, analyze world class tournaments and championship matches.  Until today I actively play blitz games on Chess.com when my rating now is over 2200.  I enjoy working with beginners and teach them the basics of the game and watch them to improve.
